With so many new faces at Bluecube, we have started a new 'global community blog series' where we spoke to some of our new teams in our UK and US offices.

Milton Keynes (UK) Office – Conversation With Nicola Greaves

Nicola Greaves is based at our Milton Keynes office and started working for Bluecube in April 2022. She was recruited for a completely new role, joining as a Ticket Coordinator. Prior to starting at Bluecube, Nicola worked in retail management for 6 years, having been in the sector for the last 10 years.

As Ticket Coordinator, Nicola overlooks all the tickets raised by our clients. She makes sure that our clients receive good customer service, that the work delivered is a high quality and that we’re meeting timescales for clients. With the end goal being to ensure that our clients are happy.


What interested you the most about joining Bluecube?

I applied to work at Bluecube as they are a growing company and I wanted to be part of that growth. I’m a very ambitious person, and I felt like I’d reached a point where there was nowhere else I could take my career progression in my previous role. Whereas, with Bluecube, it offered great opportunity.

So far this role has been a learning curve and every day is different. One of the things I enjoy about joining a company and team that is established, is that I can offer a fresh pair of eyes to processes, as well as learn from others.

What are your interests outside of work?

I used to teach dance (contemporary and competition) to children from aged 1 year old plus. I became a dance teacher in my free time after attending the dance academy when I was younger.

What does a typical Bluecube work day look like for you?

I begin my day by checking and downloading all the tickets, and then going through them. I check if any work still needs to happen on the ticket and whether we have responded. I also query what the next steps are for tickets, and check whether they have been escalated to the right team; essentially making sure that not one ticket is left without a resolve or recent update.

Can you share any successes you’ve had in your role so far at Bluecube?

One success so far is a process change idea that I noticed and have begun implementing. I suggested that we change the way we contact clients when a ticket has been raised. Now, I make sure that our engineers are putting the right phone number and/ or any external emails on their tickets. This means that if an engineer is unavailable, then the ticket can be carried on without them, and the client contacted seamlessly.

For anyone visiting the Milton Keynes office, what would you recommend that they check out in the local area?

I recommend visiting Willen Lake; it’s a great place to go for a walk. You can also try out a water sports activity (paddle sports, sailing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, open water swimming and more) or have a go at the Aqua Parc they have set up on the water. The Aqua Parc is a giant inflatable obstacle course on the lake, and it’s so much fun; in total, there are over 30 obstacles.

At Willen Lake, they have also built a new complex that overlooks the lake and houses new restaurants. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth spending the day here.
