Bluecube's apprentices gain...
An ICT level 3 apprenticeship
Upon completion, you will gain a nationally recognised and accredited qualification. We support you through the level 3 qualification, and if you’d like to take your education further, we can support you through to 4,5, and 6 (Degree-level) or even further if you want to take it to Masters level.
During a Bluecube ICT apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to work in different teams across the business, from our service desk team to crisis response, UAM and builds, welcome calls, and even on-site work at one of our major clients in Milton Keynes.
Soft skills training
We have an in-house trainer that provides our apprentices with ongoing soft skills training. Our soft skills training covers interpersonal skills, telephone skills, communication, teamwork and more. This skills are crucial to an individual’s success in any organisation as they influence how well we interact and work with others. Soft skills allow individuals to easily form relationships with people, create trust, dependability and enable the ability to lead teams.
DiSC stands for Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness; the four main personality profiles outlined in the DiSC model and assessment. We provide in-house DiSC training that allows our apprentices to gain a deeper and better understanding of their self and others. With DiSC, it helps to improves teamwork, communication and productivity in the workplace.
Emotional intelligence training
We also provide emotional intelligence training for all our apprentices. Why is this important? Emotional intelligence training allows us to better understand our own emotions, be more aware of them in different situations, as well as understand others emotions and how to handle different situations. This training provides an integral foundation and framework for our engineers working on our service desk, as well as helping individuals function within a large company.
Where an IT apprenticeship could take your career...
For our ICT apprentices, the career opportunities and chances for progression are endless.
Typical job roles after completion include: an IT Service Desk Engineer (with a progression/ training plan and salary guide to move from 1st Line, 2nd Line to 3rd Line), or roles within cyber security and crisis response, UAM and Builds, On-Site Client Support and, in the future, the potential to move into Projects.
About Bluecube academy
Bluecube Academy launched in September 2021 with the aim to deliver a range of specialist apprenticeships.
The academy formed as a result of the significant and rapid growth that Bluecube experienced in 2020 and 2021, leading to a huge recruitment drive for new talent to join our administration, cyber security, configuration and helpdesk teams. Bluecube decided that apprenticeships would provide the best medium for a long-term solution to our hiring needs and nurturing talent.
Our long-term approach to talent development has positively impacted the people at Bluecube and wider business.
"Since launching Bluecube Academy last year, we have recruited 18 apprentices through our partnerships with local colleges – with a number of new roles in the pipeline. Our plan is to take on over 40 apprentices in the next 12 months. Not only have we attracted young talent but also people who wanted to retrain in a completely new and different career. Some of our hires have included a former science teacher and an ex-chef.”
Rob Gilbride, Head of Talent Development at Bluecube
