Bluecube’s Global Community: Meet Albert DiGeso

12 August 2022

Bluecube are a global IT company with offices, field engineers and remote workers spread across the world, from the UK and Ireland to Boston, Chicago and Seattle in the US – and we have exciting plans in the works for further office expansion.

Current Global Offices

  • Milton Keynes, UK
  • London, UK
  • Dublin, Ireland
  • Boston, USA
  • Seattle, USA
  • Chicago, USA

Our recent expansion into the global market is due to Bluecube’s significant company growth since the beginning of 2020. Bluecube’s recent growth has seen an increase of 60% in the number of employees, which prompted a move to a bigger head office in Milton Keynes, and the opening of a London office and overseas offices in the US and Ireland.

Another growth aspect has been the formation of ‘Bluecube Academy’ – our new apprenticeship scheme that has been specially designed to nurture talent from within the organisation. And a scheme that we’re incredibly proud of and passionate about.

The business growth over the last 2 years has been phenomenal. With so many new faces in the office and remote working, we spoke to some of our new teams in our UK and US offices, we hope you enjoy our new interview blog series.

Boston (US) Office – Conversation With Albert DiGeso

Albert DiGeso is based at our Boston office in the US. He joined Bluecube in August 2021 as a 2nd Line Engineer in our Technical Delivery Team. Albert has been working in the IT industry since 1998, and specifically within Managed Service Providers (MSPs) for the last 12 years.

What do you like most about working for Bluecube?

I like the Bluecube culture and that the company is based in England. I’m remote-based working from the US, because of this there is a lot of leverage within my role that I enjoy.

What are your interests outside of work?

I’m heavily involved in charity work in my local community in Boston. Since 2017, I have been volunteering everyday with the American Legion Riders – a charity that helps local people and fundraises to support veterans, children and the local community. The volunteering is varied, from feeding 50 families in the area, building handicap ramps, doing rides, to even picking up mail for a veteran that can no longer walk.

I also put together blood drives, helping out on the registration desk and giving blood regularly.

Another passion of mine is cooking – particularly Asian-style food, especially Thai dishes and Korean BBQ. I even cure my own bacon at home, which makes for an incredible breakfast!

What does a typical Bluecube work day look like for you?

A typical work day at Bluecube involves several key tasks, including working on the helpdesk and ops tickets. I usually spend 3 hours of the work day with clients and then the remaining 5 hours on projects after the typical client hours have ended. The majority of our clients are UK-based working 9am to 5pm.

For anyone visiting the Boston office, what would you recommend that they check out in the local area?

I would recommend visiting the New Bridge Café and trying their steak tips and ribs; they’re incredible. When Bluecube’s Technical Delivery Director, Connor Scarrott, visited it certainly received his seal of approval!

The other thing that I’d suggest visitors do when in Boston is book themselves onto the Boston Duck Boat Tour! The tour company begins by driving you around all the historical sights (from the revolutionary war in the 1700's and 1812) and then takes you into the Charles river for more sightseeing as you cruise along.
